🏝 Shared holidays

At AutoUncle, we put a lot of attention on how holiday is planned. To us, down time is also productive – it's important to us that all colleagues take extended time away from work to recharge, explore and get inspired.

We try to optimise for collaborate teams to take “shared holidays” to improve the holiday experience by reducing the pressure to "check-in" when we are away and the likelihood of a colleague disturbing us with a question. Moreover, this will improve our productivity by making sure that we work at the same time as much as possible.

So although we offer flexibility with individuals, we try to make sure that teams synchronise when they are away from work as much as possible. In practice this means that people for the most part are expected to take holiday during summer and Christmas at the same time as the team they work in. Agreements about holiday are made with your direct manager.

This is optional, but most people are away from work:

Public holidays are designated on a per-country basis.

This means that you will follow the public holidays of the country in which you work. In other words, if you work in the Danish office, for example, then you will follow the Danish public holidays.
