Quarterly meetups (virtual or onsite)

At the start of each quarter we host a two-day, company-wide meetup to kick things off. Day one covers the company's vision, strategy, celebrations, challenges, and goals for that quarter. Day two covers updates and sessions on the company culture, workshops, and training.

You should automatically see these meetups in your AutoUncle calendar.

If you are unable to attend a meetup, please let your manager know as far in advance as possible. Under normal circumstances, these meetups are mandatory.

If the events are not virtual, AutoUncle covers expenses related to travel and accommodation for colleagues who require it. We encourage teams to plan ahead and travel together, if you can.

Town Halls

Every fourth week we host team presentations where we share updates on what's going on in the company.

It is not strictly required to participate at every meeting (an important customer meeting would take precedence), but we expect that you will find time to watch the recorded video afterwards.

Effective meetings

We love collaborating and are appalled by ineffective meetings. To make the most out of our time together, we always strive to:

• Only have meetings that are actually necessary
• Be considerate about how much time we schedule (10, 20, 50 or 80 minutes)
• Have a set agenda in advance of every meeting with clear purpose and wished outcomes
• Start meetings with a red/yellow/green check-in
• End meetings with a Kaizen “What was most useful about today’s meeting? What might make the next one better?”
• Summarise agreements and actions in writing and dispatch to all attendees
